Pralormo Tulip Festival 2011 - Messer Tulipano
Back in November we went to visit Castello di Pralormo (Pralormo Castle). It's located about 25km south of Turin and just a few minutes from our Roero home.
We were there to visit the countess - Contessa di Pralormo. Italian nobility are well respected and their lives followed closely, so we were very happy to go and meet a real celebrity of Piemonte.
The Contessa takes her role of keeping the castle in perfect shape very seriously. It's a massive tasks that is full of pain but a good measure of pleasure. One of her biggest events in the Messer Tulipano. It's a festival of Tulips. Every year 75,000 tulips are planted and for the whole of April the gardens exploded in colour. It's well worth a visit.
If you're in the area, be sure to take a look. It's a great event and the pride of this area. (Usually April - May)
