2011 Alba white truffle festival

Autumn is a great time in Piedmont. The vineyards explode into a thousand shades of red, the weather is still warm, the sky is blue and the views of the Alps never stop amazing us. For me it's the perfect time of year.
Autumn also sees the start of the month long famous Alba White Truffle festival (Fiera Internazionale del Tartufo Bianco d'Alba). We love this event. We nearly always have visitors this time of year so it's a great place to take them. It usually means putting on another couple of kilos, but, hey, it's worth it!
The truffle is fully celebrated here. You can by truffles or food products with truffles, wines, sweets, chocolates and cheese.
The truffle festival takes place in the usual venue located halfway up Vittorio Emanuale in the centre of Alba. An the dates this year are from October 8 to November 13, 2011.
It's every weekend but there are plenty of events throughout those weeks. Here's a list of events:
